I was wondering what everyone uses, as far as glue, to root hair inside head? How much do you use? I used Aleene's Tacky glue and think I used too much. It has been 2 days and there are still patches that are not dry. Thanks!!!

That is what I use. The quick dry does dry a bit quicker, but you probably used too much. It's easier to do 2 thin layers. Putting the head by a fan helps, too. ══(¯`•.¸.•°*°•. ✿ .•°*°•.¸.•´¯)════(¯`•.¸.•°*°•. ✿ .•°*°•.¸.•´¯)════(¯`•.¸.•°*°•. ✿ .•°*°•.¸.•´¯)══ Hugs, Lara www.angelsinwaitingnursery.com

I have been using the quick dry also but recently purchased something new at Micheal"s which is waterproof, acid free, dries clear, and the best part is dries fast. The name is Beacon's 3in1 Advanced craft glue. Have to say I like it pretty good. Dries fast enough you can come back and do another layer !!!!!!

Thanks for the responses! :) I just recently started working part time at Michael's...I'll have to look for that glue. Is it with the glues or in a section - like scrapbooking? Thanks! Denise

I switched to a product a year or so ago...It's Aleene's Jewel It. It's for embellishing rhinestones, beads, etc onto fabric and is washable. So, I tried it and have used it ever since. I too, set my heads in front of a small fan.

I also use the quick dry but if I use the other Aileens I let it get air for about three days and then add one more thin layer to hold good. If you don't let it dry completely it will not dry after you attach the neck ring and insert and hair may come out, the reason I know because this happened to me when I used a practice doll and did not let dry at first but we learn along the way. I have made every mistake possible before I got it right.

I'd really like to use E6000 but I can't get it to squeeze out very easily(arthritic hands) and it doesn't spread so well so I just use the tacky glue. I try to do thin layers, but that doesn't always help. And when you think its dry, it isn't! Yeah, I think a total air drying of about a week is in order there. LOL

I too use the Aleen's Quick Dry tacky glue. I try to do 2 thin layers but sometimes it ends up being a thick layer then a thin layer...LOL! I always let it dry completely before the second layer and I move the head around often during the drying process to help evenly coat the inside since it tends to pool a little. I usually let it dry for about 24 hrs per layer and I put it up close to an air vent to help speed the process
