thankyou! Karen ...yes I have heard several say they prefer the pen tool so I think I will go with that. Do you know of a online site that sells the pen tool? Not sure where to start looking for that. Do the pen tools take cut or uncut needles. Not sure what the difference is either. Ughhh I am overwhelmed a little crybaby

Actually, Peggy Searce sells a pen tool that takes the uncut needle, I believe, and its only $15. The one I have is more than twice in price and although I love it, it wasn't my first tool AND I got it as a gift from a very DF.

Karen - do you know if her pen can also have other size needles in it? I see it's for uncut needles but on her site she says 43g needles......does it matter what size in that pen? I am confused , sorry for all the questions sad

Well I sure hope you do better with the pen than I have, I use a rooting tool that I purchased at hobby lobby that is found in the section in the yarn area that does needle work on fabric, well it holds about five needles but you can only put one in it and this is what I do, I love it so much, never can get use to anything else so I have to say I am partial to it over the pen. Here is a few pics that you can see, I do love it and it is not at all expensive , you can use any size you choose, I recomend the fork'd german 40 or 42g. get oppinions on the needle . I love the shield on the rooting tool because it helps hold down the hair until the needle takes it into the vinyl.

That tool is designed for straight up and down felting. You actually use that at an angle and your needles don't snap? I'm amazed.

Yep thats true but with the vinyls being as flexable as they are its not a problem at all, I just love it and angle without any snaps at all, actually I have use the same needle for the past 4 heads, the only reason it hasn't done more is because I changed it out to a different size, If you can tell by looking at one of the pics, the needle appears to be slightly slanted but its not when I take it out to look at it its as straight as can be, I only recommend it to those who wants to give it a try at a less expensive price you want believe how easy the hair roots and just how simple to use, I know it seems like it wouldn't work but I wouldn't use anything else and I have four others including the pink pen. I do love mine. Rootings a snap and I can root one whole head in actually one day if I want but I would rather take my time and space it out to keep my shoulders from cramping up with my fibromialga. Thanks for inquiring Karen. Its in first place with me. thankyou!

I just wanted to thank all of you ladies for helping me to decide which rooting tool is best. I am looking at the one Karen suggested but also am looking at one that Darla suggested. I am thinking I like the one by Peggy because it takes uncut needles and in all honesty I am not sure if I would even know where to start with cutting the needles grrrr This is all new to me and you ladies are the BEST EVER thankyou! thankyou! thankyou!

Rebecca I kind of like your rooting tool. Actually I'll have a good reason to stop at Hobby Lobby next time I get to town. Last I knew, Peggy was in Australia, I believe. Is her store still open while she's gone? I've been wanting to get one of her pens, I need to do it while I have the money. Or does anyone have one for sale?

I was just looking on Peggy's site and she doesn't say that she is closed but I did notice that she announced on her website that she is going to Australia in March and April. So I emailed her to see if she is still taking orders. I hope so because I need that rooting pen lol
