I love unique names! I always wanted to give our kids names that were different and not as common.
Shelby is not as unique but you dont hear it alot, at least here, and Skylar is not heard alot either. Now my middle daughter, Kalysta(sounds like calista, like calista flockheart, the actress) Her name is one we NEVER hear!

Great website!

Here is one that is rated 5* so I will post this one to. It gives the 10 most popular boys and girls names by the decade
they were born in like 1880's on up to 2010 just by clicking the decade on this page. I have two grandchildren and they have quite unique names, although I had nothing to do with naming them it was their parents decision. One is 12 and her name is Callie Dian, and our grandson who is 16, is named Quinton Joseph!

I also like unusual and names spelled that are easy for children to use once they start school, Of course our babies don't have to worry about that but a 'catchey & unique' name means a lot when selling your dolls. It may be the one selling point that gets that baby sold and draws attention to the customer on a web-site.

If baby names follows the fashion trends, the term of , 'What Is Old Is New Again', will be going back to the older names, as the fashion in clothes is returning to the era before the 50's!

I created the name Catina a few years ago for a potential baby girl. I'm big on nick-names and I love the names Cat, Kate, Katie, and Tina for short. I can't say if I'd actually use Catina should I have a real baby. But I like it. And Kate/Katie doesn't really squeeze out of it, but I love those names too. I also love Phoebe.

I also created Cason for a boy; Casey or Kay for short.

I really like Biblical names like Abishai or Rachel. I like Abishai because its from the bible and unique and I also like Adelyne which just has a beautiful sound to it!

A long, long time ago, when I was little I was always going to call my daughter "Willomena"...... lol .....My daughter said thank God you changed your mind.... wink She is Lynette Mary......Mary being a family name.

Lyn's daughter is Lauren Mary, her grand daughter is Mackenzie Mary. So it is being well used. wink
