| Hi all! I look forward to working with and getting to know you all better! Lara makes amazing babies and we are all so lucky that she has formed the R.E.A.L. Classes! I for one can't thank her enough! I am still deciding on a kit...I know not much time left is there! How about you all? Have you chosen a kit yet? Which one? Maybe if everyone tells me their choices, I can decide! I tell ya....Lara's little Allison is drawing me! I have been on the fence of getting that one for quite some time! :lol!: |

| Michelle, you are such a sweetheart! THANK YOU for giving your time to help with classes. You are a wonderful asset to the group, as your babies are beautiful! I can tell you Lulu and Melody have the most artists doing them. Allison is right behind them. a few doing Audrey, 2 Daisy, 2 Tessa. No one chose Ginger. I think she is really cute reborned, but that is ok. Melody is definately a beauty and will look great with that smooth peaches and cream tone. I am not surprised that she is the most popular kit chosen. |

|   Thank you Lara!! It truly is my pleasure! Decisions decisions! I'm never good at decisions LOL! I have 4 kits washed and ready to go and it takes me at least a day to decide which to start on! Lulu is just so sweet but I think she draws me because I haven't done her before. Melody has a beautiful sweet face doesn't she?! Honestly, after seeing your Allison I would love to do her! She really is turning out beautifully! Ok I guess I better hurry and make up my mind! I just love them all! :flower: :flower: |

| Well, if you are planning on selling, then stick with a good seller, like Audrey. Ebay is horrible right now. As much as I love to do babies that I fall for, it has become necessary to do the ones that are in demand. I love Yarie, so I am planning on doing another Samiah, then Sam then Piper. I also have Lulu as an asian coming up and Michelle as an AA baby. Not sure which to do next though. |

| I agree Lara. My last little one didn't sell. I usually do ok on Ebay. Almost every baby I list has sold, or at least the ones I felt I had done a really really good job on. My little Molly sculpt from BB ....I thought she was adorable. She is my avatar. Poor thing ...she is with me for now. I might try and list her again later. For me I find that the newer kits and kits by popular sculptors like Adrie and Tamie do better. I thought Molly would do well since she was fairly new but ....guess not or buyers just didn't care for how I reborned her. I do know that I need to learn to do a more scanty rooting job. Even though I root with the 43 gauge German forked needles I root lots of hair and I think since they have so much hair people will think it is pluggy and it really isn't. It takes me hours and hours of rooting. I just can't seem to control myself once I get started!  That is the one thing that I need sooo much help on. I just can't seem to understand that it is ok to not have every square inch of head covered in hair!
I have Samiah and Max to do and preordered Tamie's next baby. I am addicted to them as much as Adrie's if not more so (the price is a bit easier on the pocket too LOL). I still have Derek to reborn.....I'm so slow LOL! I want several of Adrie's new kits coming out .....hope that I can get them! |

| Hello Michelle it is nice to met you!! Love your discussion on kits!! Hard to decide what to spend your money on isn't it? There are so many wonderful kits out there and just too little dolly money!!! I am so much the same way!
I picked Lulu to do this winter class. I just love her but really all the kits were wonderful and it's funny no one picked Ginger because she was the one I was pulled between with Lulu!
I have the same problem with rooting that you do. Sparse is hard for me to obtain. I love rooting!!!! I also use the 43forked needle and just love it so much that the next thing I know I have a head full of hair!!!! Something about rooting that I just find so relaxing!
Looking forward to being a part of winter class with you!! |

| Hi Michelle - I have a hard time deciding too, especially when there are so many great choices. Lara is a good leader in that department - I don't think she dithers and certainly not to excess. I like that there was only one choice for the first class - I needed very specific instructions. For this one I already had Audrey - so that was easy, but I liked all of the selections. I actually looked for a reborn Audrey on Ebay a day or two ago and could not find one! If you want to resell that may be a good choice, I'm not going to sell mine, no way, and I'll be needing advice on mine for sure.
About the sparse hair, I tried my best to root as much as Lara did and all I got was sparse and since he was my first and I love sparse I was happy, but mistiefied. I was feeling so bad about poking my Noe's head so much and getting nothing or next to it. I'll probably never be able to duplicate it, but I sure hope to.
I used a German 42 forked needle and now I want a 40 for the center crown. I've read that it works better in the crown where the vinyl is thicker. I guess I will find out soon. I have a Paisley test head to practice on. |

| Way too many kits and too little time and money LOL! I liked Ginger after I saw someone else reborn her...then I decided I wanted to give it a try but never did. Ran out of time and money LOL! Adrie's kits are all gorgeous and I would love to do them all! I have been trying to get the new ones as they come out, but she has so many now that it is going to be hard to keep up! I love love Allison but haven't seen many people make her which made me a bit nervous, now after seeing Lara's I want her LOL. So I'm no better than before at deciding LOL!
Rooting is not my favorite thing to do, but I know the reason is because I can't get the hair like I intended before I started. If I could get the hang of the scanty rooting I would be happy as could be! They look lovely when someone else does it but when I try they look half bald! Like some little old man losing his hair ha!
Lyndie Yep I am glad that we had Noe last time, he was a kit I had wanted for awhile but never purchased. This time there are so many I love! LOL! I think I am narrowing it down! I have an Adrie kit or two ....I have to dig through my treasure and see just what I have  I'm almost scared to see how many kits I DO have sigh.
I start out rooting what I would consider sparse but as I go on......something happens LOL! If I'm not careful I come away with a clown! Lots of hair in the back and sides and less in the front. I have had to go back and add to the front because I wasn't paying attention. :pale:
In the crown I seem to have a harder time getting hair to stay in... what should take less time takes more..... Maybe I should use a larger needle on the that part.... never thought about it. Very much worth trying. :D |

| Someone on the BB forum posted recently that as the vinyl is cast or dries or at some stage the vinyl gets thicker in the crown. She said, but I have not tried to verify it, that using a bigger forked needle or a needle with 3 barbs would help in that area. I do remember looking inside the head and in some parts there was long hair and in others almost nothing (I don't remember which parts). I felt I had pushed the needle in about the same everywhere. I rooted in the front first and as I moved to the back I thought I was losing hair in the front, due to friction, I believed. I'm going to start in the back the next time and root the front last, but I may root my Paisley test head, first. It depends on how well I manage my time.
If I love what I'm doing I think it takes half the time it really does and vice versa. Dusting takes an hour and I'm done in 20 minutes. Baking a cake takes 45 minutes and 2 hours later it still isn't done. But my face is covered in chocolate and my husband is smiling and licking bowls and spoons!
I'll be decorating for Christmas before the next class and I think a tree will take 2.5 hours, but I get lost in the music and decide to have Nutcracker tea and cookies and....... |

| LOL! Well I guess you just have to find what works best for you! I always root the front first, then the sides and then the back and last the crown. Have done it so long now, not sure I can do anything else! Let me know how your experiment goes! :D |

| Now I realize I said things wrong. I do know where the crown is, but I was meaning the front and it does make sense that the crown would be thicker, although I've never had a tour at a vinyl doll factory, I can visualize the head upside down after a pour.
I didn't have crown problems, I had front problems on both my Beruenger and my Noe. I couldn't get enough hair in there. The crown wasn't any too thick either, but it doesn't get any friction from rooting the opposite side of the head.
Now that I mentioned tour - wow that would be a dream trip wouldn't it? |

| Hi Michelle! It's great to meet you and I love your baby. Everyone says Ebay is horrible right now, and that makes me glad that I just make these precious little ones to enjoy! I can't imagine anyone actually paying me for one of mine! hahahaha
Looking forward to learning some great new techniques here. |
