| Hi All,
I thought I'd share this really good tip with you. I do this all the time with my kits and the paint adheres better, kit smells nice too and at the end of the quick wash cycle it comes out dry. Sometimes, I wash several kits at a time using this method.
This is how I pre wash my doll kits before painting them:
1) Place the unwashed kit in a pillow case and tie it or you could use a zipped cushion case and zip it up and then place it in the washing machine.
2) Place non bio washing tablets or powder in washing machine (must be non bio as it is kinder on your kit as it doesn't contain enzymes like bio powder does). I use Fairy non bio washing powder which gives the kit a lovely baby smell.
3) Now programme the machine on a quick 30 degree wash (my quick wash is timed to 39 minutes) and away you go.
PLEASE NOTE: I have never had a kit damaged or ruined washing my kits this way, but please use your own judgement if you decide to do the above as I won't take responsibility in anyway should any of your kits become damaged or ruined. If you do wish to try the above method perhaps use a couple of tester parts first.

| Well, I'm at a total loss here because I don't know what we have for Bio NonBio etc lol..I think I'll stick to the old fashioned way as I actually like "bathing" the baby. But, it gave me an idea, perhaps I'll get an old salad spinner and spin dry the pieces!! ══(¯`•.¸.•°*°•. ✿ .•°*°•.¸.•´¯)════(¯`•.¸.•°*°•. ✿ .•°*°•.¸.•´¯)════(¯`•.¸.•°*°•. ✿ .•°*°•.¸.•´¯)══ ღஐƸ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒஐღ--Karen--ღஐƸ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒஐღ

| People use a salad spinner to spin dry their wool for felting and I never thought about applying it to doll parts until I read the OP here. ══(¯`•.¸.•°*°•. ✿ .•°*°•.¸.•´¯)════(¯`•.¸.•°*°•. ✿ .•°*°•.¸.•´¯)════(¯`•.¸.•°*°•. ✿ .•°*°•.¸.•´¯)══ ღஐƸ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒஐღ--Karen--ღஐƸ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒஐღ

| I also cannot se as the dshwasher would not work either. I used it for the oily secrist kit and it came out lovely and clean and dry. Never thought of using it for my other kits though, might give it a try also. ══(¯`•.¸.•°*°•. ✿ .•°*°•.¸.•´¯)════(¯`•.¸.•°*°•. ✿ .•°*°•.¸.•´¯)════(¯`•.¸.•°*°•. ✿ .•°*°•.¸.•´¯)══ Lyn Reborn Artist - Lynk Nursery PLEASE CHECK OUT MY WEBSITE - NEW ITEMS BEING ADDED REGULARLY http://lynkproducts.com.au |

Pam, I don't think that they sell Fairy non Bio in the US. I'm from the UK and its readily available here as it is made in the UK.
I have done a web search to see what non bio's you have in the US and I can't really find any. Any washing powder or tablet which is recommended for babies/sensitive skin would be OK.
If you'd like to try a fairy non bio tablet either inbox me your address and I'll send you a sample or you can buy some from here who will post it to the US.

I no longer use baby wash or baby bath to wash my kits because some baby wash has lanolin in as an ingredient which is a fatty, yellowish substance that comes from the wool of sheep. By using a lanolin based baby wash we are only adding to the factory oils/grease on the kit rather than eradicating it. |
