linseed oil is for paints. The rest aren't. I wouldn't use them.

Is it the cold pressed oil or processed??
Or the one you can eat for a good health?

I don't think you can but you may just see the other oppinions, I am just seeing your post and I think you would need only the linseed becaus it does mix into the mediums used, no other oils will do that. You can only use the linseed because its purified and will give a even flow in our heat set paints and only a drop or two is needed per mix. Check with Lara and see her take or the others but if I were you I would try to stick with it. wink

I would think you can find the artist linseed in the art section and please get the purified for safety and to mix evenly into the heat set paints.

Someone recently said that they use the other and it caused the vinyl to have oily spots to appear and this is because it doesn't mix with a heat set paint and want set properly which in turn will cause a uneven splotchy look and you will see the spots as well. If it is a thick oil it is not processed and that may cause a problem , I hope this helps.

I have only used Stand Oil and I've never had a problem with it. If someone comes up with oily spots, its either their kit or they are using too much. Two drops works great with Stand Oil.

Happy to hear you got your linseed oil, only thing I think on the stand is it takes less per mix, if I am thinking right isn't it really thick? If so then start by using only a drop because this way after the first baking you can tell if its going to be to oily, I talked with one lady who used three drops of this and had to rewash her baby in dawn to cut the oil on the vinyl, just be careful. Hope this is some help. wink

That's right. Two drops is usually enough. It extends drying time a bit also so I would only do two drops, although I've used three drops without consequence, but all vinyl is different. The softer the vinyl, the more it wants to stay.

I also use the Stand Linseed oil,and 2 drops is all you need,it is very thick, just keep stirring and blending and it will mix up fine. If you use to much it can get oily or shiny spots. If it get oily spots just wash off with dawn or something that cuts grease, then rebake 3 or 4 minutes. bigsmile Kathy
