On my 5 minute allottment for the internet on this busy day I decided to answer this thread. I do make bodies and sell them and I either order the Doesuede from BB for colored doesuede (flesh, biracial,A/A) or I get a product called COSTUME SUEDE from Joann Fabrics. It is not available on line, only in the stores, but it makes a beautiful body. That is for the white bodies I make that most of my regular customers prefer as it looks like a little onesie if it shows under the clothing.

The important thing to remember is a lighter weight fabric with little to no stretch in it for the best bodies.

I just wanted to add my 2 cents, the bodies I've liked the very best have come from http://www.spearsondollbodies.com/ Though I've saw a lot of talented ladies on here that do thier own.

I won't buy another BB body after I used Spearson's. (IMO) They just look/feel so much better, even under clothes. Plus they have many colors to choose from. They're not the cheapest, but still reasonable. I think you get what you pay for & it's soo worth it to me to spend the little extra & use their's. I hate seeing reborns with bulky upper bodies, especially in the upper chest/right below the neck area, if you know what I mean...

I've sort of made my own bodies. I buy bodies from BB and then customize them to look better. Mostly just adding pleats or decreasing the size of the space between the legs and the roundness of the tushie. I could prob just make mine from scratch, but then I'd have to add the joints and make the little casings myself and I don't really like doing that part.

I think ultrasuede feels more like real suede than the doesuede. However, I am working on a kit right now that came with a body I think like what ultrasuede is. As long as it's not too thick and has no stretch, it could be used for bodies.

I have used a few different people to make my custom bodies. The last one I ordered from Janie..and it was fabulous. Her customer service was amazing! So..from now on as long she is making them..that is who I will be using!

I make them but I am about 2 weeks booked. So if you want something fast I can't do it right now. Sorry. But thank you ladies who are faithful and willing to wait. I always want to stay booked so if you need anything don't hesitate to ask. I'm around just pm me.

I make my own because I know what I want and cannot explain it to someone else. I thought at one time I woul d it for money but the stress of a time frame is not in my old age bucket list. LOL
BUT make sure you us doe suede or a really high quality fabric like Audrey mentioned from Joann's. The light wt. craft velour stuff starts to pull immediately.
If you are wanting to go at it yourself....they are very very easy to make. I have all th patterns from Chelle including the new one for Mavie etc. Nothing to it and her directionsare great! Just takes a little practice to get the hang of it all.
